The Campaign for Southern Equality is working to build a South where LGBTQ+ people are equal in every part of life. A South where your zip code doesn’t determine your rights. Where all of us are free to be who we truly are and love who we truly love. At this unprecedented time of anti-LGBTQ+ attacks – and as public support for LGBTQ equality across the South continues to grow – we invite you to join us in Meeting the Moment in the LGBTQ South.
The Trans Youth Emergency Project helps families of transgender youth across 25 states navigate cruel bans on gender-affirming care. It is the largest national program of its kind, offering custom 1-on-1 logistical and financial support so families can identify out-of-state healthcare options and pay for the cost of getting there. Learn more, get support, and donate.
Get InvolvedTrans Kids, Our Kids is a new book that takes readers inside the movement for transgender youth, told through narratives that will open your eyes, break your heart, and give you hope. The book was co-written by the Campaign for Southern Equality team, and now we’re taking the book on tour, with special events nationwide. All proceeds benefit the Trans Youth Emergency Project.
Get InvolvedThe South is changing due to the courage of the LGBTQ+ community. We’re working to accelerate that by:
grassroots organizers and activists to support a new generation of LGBTQ+ leaders.
to resources and direct services for LGBTQ+ folks in the South.
organizing in response to immediate political threats and building political power through long-term strategies.
Our work is rooted in empathy and in commitments to equity in race, gender, and class.
We're creating a pipeline of resources to the LGBTQ+ South to help folks access services and to provide funding and training for grassroots organizers.
Learn more about our workTrans in the South: A Directory of Trans-Affirming Health & Legal Service Providers, is a directory of nearly 400 Southern health service providers that the Campaign for Southern Equality team has confirmed to be trans-friendly and trans-competent.
The Southern Equality Fund (SEF) provides funding and training to Southern LGBTQ+ folks doing heroic organizing in their hometowns. We prioritize work addressing the intersections of race, class and gender in the lives of LGBTQ+ Southerners. We also prioritize groups and individual leaders whose access to funding and support is limited due to barriers such as not having 501c3 status, or being located in a rural area.
Our work is rooted in empathy and in commitments to equity in race, gender, and class.
When we build community, we build power. That’s why CSE promotes and supports regional events that inform, unite, and energize.
Every dollar helps. Join our movement for full LGBTQ+ equality in the South by making a donation or signing up to be a sustaining donor today!
