Meeting the Moment in the LGBTQ+ South

The Campaign for Southern Equality is working to build a South where LGBTQ+ people are equal in every part of life. A South where your zip code doesn’t determine your rights. Where all of us are free to be who we truly are and love who we truly love. At this unprecedented time of anti-LGBTQ+ attacks – and as public support for LGBTQ equality across the South continues to grow – we invite you to join us in Meeting the Moment in the LGBTQ South.

The Trans Youth Emergency Project helps families of transgender youth nationwide navigate cruel bans on gender-affirming care. It is the largest national program of its kind, offering custom 1-on-1 logistical support so families can identify out-of-state healthcare options and travel grants to  help pay for the cost of getting there. Learn more, get support, and donate.

Trans Kids, Our Kids is a new book that takes readers inside the movement for transgender youth, told through narratives that will open your eyes, break your heart, and give you hope. The book was co-written by the Campaign for Southern Equality team, and now we’re taking the book on tour, with special events nationwide. All proceeds benefit the Trans Youth Emergency Project.

Southern Equality Fund

The Southern Equality Fund (SEF) provides funding and training to Southern LGBTQ+ folks doing heroic organizing in their hometowns. We prioritize work addressing the intersections of race, class and gender in the lives of LGBTQ+ Southerners. We also prioritize groups and individual leaders whose access to funding and support is limited due to barriers such as not having 501c3 status, or being located in a rural area.
